NACRAO Distinguished Service Award

The NACRAO Distinguished Service Award is designed to recognize the outstanding accomplishments of a past or current NACRAO member.  Individuals receiving this award have demonstrated a commitment to their profession and a measurable impact on higher education that exceeds their day-to-day responsibilities at their institution.

The Distinguished Service Award should not be confused with Honorary Membership, which is bestowed upon deserving members who have given significant service to the Association. It acknowledges a member’s extraordinary contributions to his/her campus, state or to higher education in general, which reflect a commitment beyond that required of the profession.

The Distinguished Service Award may be presented to a NACRAO member at any time during his/her career.

Eligibility:

I.  Breadth of service to NACRAO over an extended period of time, including but not limited to the following:

  • Member of executive board
  • Local arrangements chair
  • Contributions of scholarship (publications, presentations) to the organization
  • Innovative leader in NACRAO

II.  NACRAO membership for a minimum of 7 years

Nomination Process:

Nominations should be submitted to the NACRAO Honorary Membership Committee for initial review.  Deadline for receiving nominations is June 1 for consideration at the following fall conference.  The Honorary Membership chair will then forward recommendations to the Executive Board for final approval.  Recipients will be recognized at the annual fall conference.
